MC Riko - The Truth (album)

Roll deep's Riko comes through with the goods on his long threatened mixtape for Roll Deep recordings. Riko will probably be best known to a lot of you as the fella with bars from behind bars on the Menta remix of Lady Sovereign's 'Random', or for his his years of loyal service in Roll Deep. With the freedom afforded to the mixtape format Riko has selected a top drawer pick of producers and riddim from Wiley on opener 'So amazing', to Wizzbit's staple riddim on 'Do you know my name', Skepta's incredible stageshow riddim, and loads more from Maniac, Chase and Staus, Danny Weed and Jammer. Over the two discs here there's shitloads to take in but thankfully it' not a skipper - one of those grime CDs where you have to sit with your hand on the skip track button to preserve your sanity. The second CD comes with loads of bonus freestyles, clashes and offcuts, maybe more for the hardcore fans but we aren't complaining. A tight selection from one of Grime's most recognisable voices.
